In the summer of 2025, I co-founded Spectrm. We build software for private equity origination teams to help them find companies. Recently, I decided to take a step down from Spectrm, a decision that was not easy (read more).
The last year and a bit was nothing short of amazing, but it’s time for a new chapter. I’m looking for a new home in a crazy startup working on real problems with equally crazy people!
2 years out of graduation, I’ve travelled the world, started my own company, grown it, and now left it. Chaotic, but I wouldn’t have it any other way!
Fun
When I’m not injured, I love running, cycling, football, swimming, and lifting. I train first thing in the morning and I train fasted. I ran the London Marathon when I was 23. I play 5’s & 7’s in football because I don’t have the IQ for 11-a-side. I don’t support a football team, and I’m a Ronaldo fan.
Bollywood is my comfort time, and I’ve never watched a bad Jake Gyllenhaal movie. Nerds, here’s my letterboxd.
Food is the key to my heart, especially Indian, Japanese, or Italian cuisine. We’re big on cooking in my house - I think I might make the best chicken breast of all time.
Music is a big part of my life. You’ll always find Eminem, Sade, and Ye on my Spotify wrapped. I listen to old music significantly more than any new music - they just don’t make music like they used to!
Travel
Every summer, you will find me in the mountains with my boys because what else is summer for!? Sometimes I wonder if I’m just living for that moment in the mountain, when everything slows down and all your problems become so insignificant.
For me, living feels like walking on a mountain, crisp breeze on my face, sun shining, and nothing but mountain tops along the horizon. Oh and of course my hiking buddies.
I travel for the food, the people, and just to see the world with my own two eyes. It’s so big, there’s so many things to see, and the sad reality is I will never see them all, but I’ll die trying.
Reading
I began reading self-help books at the end of my teenage years. Back then, it didn’t make sense to read anything else - I should just consume the book, the same way I would with an engineering text book.
Reflecting back, I now understand that some lessons, even if written in the most artistic manner, must be experienced to be internalised. I was told to give fiction a go, because it’s the closest thing to experience you can get. I noticed myself empathising with the characters, following them on their journey, wrestling with the moral intricacies alongside time.
And it makes sense. Humans have been telling stories for millennia, and religious teach through stories?
Someone probably told me this when I was 19, but I didn’t internalise it until I experienced it.
Timeline
Spectrm makes software that private equity firms use to find companies to invest in. My time at Spectrm was incredible in so many ways. Learning and building something from the ground up pushed me to my limits, taught me a lot about myself, and opened up the world of startups. The startup culture, although sometimes cringe, is inspiring, and I met so many fantastic founders. I learned so much; so much so that I wrote about it here.
As co-founder, I had my hand in everything; from leading sales calls, to building the backend architecture, to desigining the frontend UI.
Buckstop is a buisness intelligence platform founded by Alexander Olesen. Their Urban Mining Intelligence Platform assesess obsolete energy assests and manages the reverse supply chain to maximise value recovery. Part of the engineering team, we built Buckstops very first POC for prosepective clients.
Working in a team of SWE's, I learned the fundamentals of writing production-level code in a team. It was also my first taste of the startup culture which ultimately led me to starting my own.
At Crux, I was surrounded by the smartest people I knew. They pushed me hard, dropped me in the deep end straight away. I really loved the fact they allowed me to talk to big pharma clients from week 6, even though I'd never done it before.
I got involved in so much, from mechanical design, CAD, data processing in python, client presentations, and new hobbies like climbing and cycling. The culture there was good fun. Bristol will always have a place in my heart!
Crux was what got me hooked to software, learning it the old way, before coding agents were mainstream.
